So we ( my Visual Arts Faculty) went on a trip to Toronto to visit a bunch of art galleries; commercial galleries, artist-run, and public galleries. I feel so culturized now, despite the fact that we didnt have time to spend more than 10 mins in each gallery and that half the time I just stared at the objects wondering how on earth they had ended up being "art" and exhibited in a gallery, and since I couldn't find an answer I just gave them the benefit of the doubt.
In any case, at the end of the day, as a bonus, we went to the Art Gallery of Ontario whose grand reopening was yesterday, and since it was free entrance I suspect all of the Ontario population decided to go to the museum because we had to wait in line for close to 2 hours freezing; the line went around a few blocks, I swear it was longer than any queue Iv'e seen at the El Prado Museum or the Louvre.
And the only thing I ate in 12 hours was a starbucks café latte and a pumpkin scone. God bless them.
Now I have to write an essay concerning all the art I saw.
