Just Christmas

Tonight's the night the world begins again
suffering,
everybody cries, wishes for something better.
For this Christ came to Earth
you ask me what I want this year, and I try to make this kind and clear;
just a chance that maybe we'll find better days.
I wish everyone was loved tonight

Dusk
and you love something else and that something returns
can you still love it?
or can you still desire it because you never had it?

Captivating, intriguing, mesmerizing, and a book that, above all, makes you feel.
and this post is dedicated to Raph for introducing me to it.

Silohuetted figures
Specially for Amos.
This is my handmade pinhole camera
These are the pictures for my surrealistic photography project taken with it
Silhouetted figures by the window
I watched the drama
of dancer-men and coffee-cake house
supreme.
(Glory to Dre for the quote)

Prof: Bonne composition Elisa. Tu as un style d'artiste!
Composition for my mid-term french exam(corrected). Graded 29/30.

Crystal drops

When I first met Phil he was thrilled to find out that I'm an artist, and insisted on drawing him an eye for his project of covering a wall of his house with pictures of eyes, and cause he thinks eyes are awesome and the window to the soul (he studies philosophy)
So yesterday I felt like it and drew him the eye, and he was so pleased and excited when I gave it to him. sweet Phil.
Took about an hour or so; 2H, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B and 9B pencils.

Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer
Reading his poems is always amazing, but finding that your favorite poet has actually written a poem called "To Elisa", is undescribable
Ink art and written poem by me.

Toronto Gallery hunting
So we ( my Visual Arts Faculty) went on a trip to Toronto to visit a bunch of art galleries; commercial galleries, artist-run, and public galleries. I feel so culturized now, despite the fact that we didnt have time to spend more than 10 mins in each gallery and that half the time I just stared at the objects wondering how on earth they had ended up being "art" and exhibited in a gallery, and since I couldn't find an answer I just gave them the benefit of the doubt.
In any case, at the end of the day, as a bonus, we went to the Art Gallery of Ontario whose grand reopening was yesterday, and since it was free entrance I suspect all of the Ontario population decided to go to the museum because we had to wait in line for close to 2 hours freezing; the line went around a few blocks, I swear it was longer than any queue Iv'e seen at the El Prado Museum or the Louvre.
And the only thing I ate in 12 hours was a starbucks café latte and a pumpkin scone. God bless them.
Now I have to write an essay concerning all the art I saw.

Literature thoughts
This book's got to be the best I've read. A spanish classic from the early 1900's, by Alejandro Pérez Lugín. So entertaining, intriguing, fun, realistic, so perfect.
I found this spot in the University Library that's full of spanish books.. and I love it, from time to time I go there and take a look at all these old classics.. now I'm reading the full works of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, spanish poet from the 19th century, from the romantic era, and an aquarian..who happens to be my fav writer and ideal of a man. Metro de Madrid...Vuela

2nd painting project. Mixed media; acrylic painting and glued photographs.
90x90cm (big!)
This is..a personal painting and has tangled meanings.
But it's all about Madrid, some of my favorite places merging all into one unique space. And the metro, because Madrid's metro flies... you can be everyone at once.

Peut être
Can you imagine how life would have been if it had been..different. just change one thing and it would have all completely changed. Maybe you would be here, maybe not, maybe I wouldn't be here, maybe we'd have something else.. Maybe you can actually save people, change destiny, maybe I could have..maybe I couldn't.
who knows.
maybe you?

Here it is, the Talbot College building, faculty of music.
Acrylic painting done with a palette knife on a 30 x 30 cm masonite board. Disclaimer: the building is not pink, that was my choice. :)

October blowing by
So here is the result of a peaceful long weekend.. It's nice walking through these colorful forests and parks.. Fall is beautiful over here.
Today was a busy day.. but I ate apple pie! and Dre called, so sweet.
I just finished studying for my art history exam tomorrow.. about the Greeks and their sculpture.. it's very easy, as Dre says: "they just were all naked" :)It's majestic.
View from my 7th floor apartment. That's the top of the Middlesex College building, faculty of Mathematics and where art history lectures take place.
The shortcut through the forest to get to the campus.
The Thames river in London.
I caught it. These creatures are planning to take over the town I tell you.. the squirrel population doubles the human population here.
